Yes! While ECHO Photography is based in Tauranga, Bay of Plenty, most commercial shoots happen on location across the North Island, mainly Tongariro, Taupo, Hawke's Bay, Auckland, and beyond. Travel is built into the quote.

Do you work with outdoor brands based outside of Bay of Plenty?

Primarily outdoor and adventure brands:
tourism operators, outdoor apparel and gear companies, adventure sports businesses, and DOC-permitted operators.
I also work with product brands that need backcountry or nature environments for their imagery, so, anything that requires getting off the beaten track to shoot it properly.

Can you handle full productions with video, drone, and stills in one shoot?

ECHO Photography coordinates full productions: stills, drone footage, and short-form video for social media and campaign use, all in one shoot.
I work with a small, trusted team of videographers and operators so brands get everything they need from a single brief, without managing multiple contractors (that means, I do that for you!)
Primarily across the North Island, so think Tongariro National Park, Lake Taupo, the Bay of Plenty, Hawke's Bay, and the Coromandel.
I'm also available for shoots in the South Island for the right commercial brief.

Can you photograph in Tongariro National Park and other DOC-managed areas?

Yes - handheld photography in national parks is generally permitted without a concession for personal and editorial use.
For commercial shoots, it depends on the context: if you're working alongside a guided tour operator, their existing concession typically covers photography as part of the activity.
For independent commercial productions involving videography in DOC-managed land, a filming permit is required. I'm familiar with the process and can advise on whether your specific shoot requires one.
Do you hold permits for backcountry and national park commercial shoots?

I don't hold a standing DOC filming permit, as these are mostly managed case-by-case, but I understand the requirements and can facilitate the application process for projects that need one.
Costs and lead times apply (DOC permits involve application, management, and daily fees), so this is best discussed early in the brief.
For many photoshoot scenarios requiring only photography (particularly those alongside licensed operators) a separate permit isn't required.
How long does a commercial outdoor shoot typically take?

A half-day shoot (4 hours) suits smaller campaigns or single-location briefs.
A full day (8 hours) covers multi-location shoots, larger talent briefs, or productions that include drone and video alongside stills.
Multi-day shoots are available for major campaigns. All shoots include pre-production planning and location scouting.
Do you work with talent or models, or does the client supply them?

Both.
ECHO Photography can source and coordinate talent for shoots, including athletes, outdoor enthusiasts, and lifestyle talent suited to adventure contexts.
Clients are also welcome to supply their own talent.
Either way, I can handle briefing, timing, and on-location direction so the shoot runs efficiently.
What's the difference between a half-day shoot and a full production?

A half-day shoot delivers a focused set of stills or short videos for social media from a single location or brief.
A full production includes multiple locations, video and drone capture, coordinated talent, and post-production delivery of a complete content suite (stills, hero video, and social-format edits).
Full productions are suited to seasonal campaigns, brand launches, or tourism marketing packages.

ECHO Photography is built around backcountry access: I'm a tramper, climber, and mountaineer who carries gear into remote locations that a studio-based photographer won't reach.
Combined with knowledge of DOC permits, commercial insurance, and production coordination, it means brands can commission genuinely wild, authentic outdoor content without logistics becoming a problem.
Are you insured for remote and backcountry commercial shoots?

ECHO Photography carries commercial liability insurance covering remote and backcountry shoot environments across New Zealand.
Insurance documentation is available on request for productions that require it.
